Branch Chain Amino Acids; What are they?

Branch Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) are L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine and L-Valine and they're molecular structures are branched hence the name, BRANCHED.

BCAAs are readily used by the body especially in muscle tissue. However, BCAAs are also the first to be used from muscle tissue for a source of energy. Without an adequate supply, you'll deplete the very muscle you just worked out to build up.

Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) prevent the breakdown and catabolism of muscle (i.e. muscle loss). To put it in simple terms, BCAAs are the “best part” of protein. So, if you were to consume 10 grams of BCAAs, you’re essentially consuming 10 grams of protein.

So the uses of consuming branch chain amino acids are to promote workout recovery, encourage muscle growth and support strength and power.

There are hundreds of branch chain amino acids on the market and it's not easy when searching for a good quality BCAA. What I do have is sort of a 'consumers choice' of top rated BCAA.
